Description: Wayne Clay was a knifemaker out of Pellham, Tennessee. He was well known for making lockback and slipjoint folders as well as hunting knives. Wayne studied knifemaking under the famous Bob Loveless while working in his shop in Riverside, California. Unfortunately Wayne passed away in April of 2015. This knife has been in a single private collection since it was made. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday..
The blade is made from ATS-34 stainless steel with a mirror polish. It is hollow ground for an easy-to-maintain edge.
Stag scales are set to the full tang using Loveless style fasteners. The tang is distal tapered to provide excellent balance. Red fiber spacers help the handle adjust to temperature and humidity changes. The bolsters are made from stainless steel.
A pouch style leather sheath helps keep this knife close at hand.
