Description: The Gamma folder is designed by knife maker Ilya Pasumanskiy (Valence Knives) of Seattle, Washington. Based on Ilya's custom Gamma knife design, this Midtech was produced by WE Knives to his exact standards. The folders were then finished by hand and anodized by Ilya himself. Only 100 of these were made and this is #98.
The 4 inch tanto blade is ground from Bohler M390 stainless steel and features a two tone tumbled DLC finish. M390 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it due to its high concentration of vanadium and chromium carbides. Its unique powder metallurgical process also promotes a uniform carbide distribution and clean steel properties, making M390 a popular steel used in surgical cutting instruments and in applications requiring a high finish. It offers excellent corrosion resistance due to its high concentration of chromium. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. Aggressive jimping and a choil allow a secure purchase even when choking up on the blade.
The blade is set on caged bearings and can be easily deployed using the ambidextrous flipper tab. The blade cut out also allows the user to easily flick the blade out using their middle finger or open it using two hands.
The handle is made from machined and diamond textured titanium. The stonewashed titanium handle features a cut out frame lock that dramatically reduces the weight of the folder. The backbar is slotted so a lanyard can be added. The handle, pivot, and hardware have all been anodized blue. The hidden hardware titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-handed, tip-up carry.
Included with the knife is a zipper pouch and a certificate of authenticity machined from brass and signed by Ilya.
