Description: Seattle native Jeff Driscoll's knives are unique, dramatic creations. A plumber by day and knifemaker by night, Jeff loves using the Swedish influenced knife as his art canvas. Marble Stag Puukko shows his creativity and willingness to experiment with his work.
The Feather pattern damascus blade was forged from carbon steels by Gregory Verizhnikov in the Ukraine. Gregory is an armorer, sword maker, blacksmith, knifemaker, and mosaic damascus maker living in Lviv. The intricate feather pattern is immediately captivating and draws attention for closer examination. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend camellia oil to avoid rust and oxidation.
The handle is made from a column of carved Italian carrara marble. A stone with a rich history, Carrara marble has been used since the times of Ancient Rome. During 17th and 18th centuries, the marble quarries were controlled by powerful families. Drawing inspiration from Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson, a bolster and pommel are formed from cross-cut India stag. Using Hendrickson's trademark stag guard and pommel gives the knife a rugged and purposefully appearance while the markble brings a touch o f elegance.
Well balanced and quick to hand, the knife snaps securely in the Swedish influenced hanger sheath. This style of sheath is swings out of the waywhen you sit down and requires no snaps or fasteners to keep the knife safe. A teak wood bottom is combined with a leather upper. The front is ornamented with a cross-cut section of India stag.
This masterwork will be a nice fit to any collection, yet would feel at home by your side for any task.
Excellent work throughout!
