Description: This Nordic styled hunter is a tremendous knife by Seattle native, Jeff Driscoll. Driscoll brought his full skill and attention to detail to creating this masterpiece which will feel as at home out in the field as in any collection.
The blade was hand forged by Ukrainian bladesmith Konstantin Lysenko. Beginning with carbon steels, Lysenko forged a complex feather pattern that immediately grabs attention. A top swedge grind reduces the weight, making this an agile knife.
The handle combines vine maple, bocote, and wenge woods. Copper spacers add a nice contrast. The base of the handle is inlaid with wenge. The top is inlaid with bloodwood and reconstituted turquoise. It is completed with front and rear bolsters formed from cross-cut mammoth ivory.
The knife is accompanied by a matching sheath formed from bocote, vine maple, bloodwood, and wenge woods. A braided leather tether is held in place with a damascus hook. The tether holds fobs made from bocote, mammoth ivory, wenge wood, and vine maple and is completed with turquoise, mammoth ivory, brass, and bloodwood beads. The middle fob enfolds a rare earth magnet to secure the knife in place when carried.
Excellent work throughout!
