Description: Jan Wahl, is a maker to watch. He became a full time knife maker in 2009 and joined the South African Knife Makers Guild in 2012. Jan has excellent attention to detail.
The 4 inch drop point blade is made from satin finished N690 stainless steel. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge. The spine has been nicely rounded for comfort.
The handle is made from pearlescent bronze and violet Acrylester. This highly polished acrylic has an amazing depth when viewed in the light! The scales are secured the scales to the distal tapered full tang for a perfect balance. The handle is nicely carved to swell toward the front of the handle, move into a slimmer waist and finally to swell again at the end of the handle. The stainless steel bolster is dovetailed to the Acrylester for a perfect fit. This is a knife you won't want to put down.
This knife includes a vegetable tanned, hand tooled, leather pouch style sheath.
Excellent fit throughout!
