Description: This folder by Journeyman Smith Bruce Bingenheimer began as a design by Lorien Arnold. The pattern has become one of Bing's most requested designs.
The drop point blade was formed from CPM154 stainless steel. This powdered metallurgical steel has exceptionally small crystalline structure, ensuring optimal edge holding. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality. A slight thumb ramp provides a sure purchase.
The scales are premium curly koa. The warm dark wood has a particularly tight curl.
The pocket tip (mounted for tip-up carry), pivot, and the bolsters are formed from zirconium. Zirconium is a new material to the knifemaking world. It is a transitional metal that is primarily mined in South Africa and Australia. Zirconium is highly resistant to corrosion. Anodized and textured titanium liners keep the knife light and strong and surround a zirconium backbar.
The blade is perfectly centered and has smooth action. The flipper makes it easy to open the knife with a simple flick. The blade rotates on caged bearings, ensuring the knife will maintain super-smooth action throughout its life!
Exceptional work throughout!
