Description: This exceptional bowie knife is the work of Mastersmith David Anders who is well known for his precision and dramatic style. Bowies and large fighters are a hallmark of his knives. His work is immediately recognizable for its perfect shapes and well thought through designs. Regrettably, Mastersmith Anders isn't making as many knives these days as he used to and this is an exceptional example of his tremendous sole-authorship work.
The clip point blade was forged to shape from David's own high layer count random pattern damascus. Anders created the damascus by combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels along with pure nickel for particularly high contrast. The pattern is immediately captivating. The 10-3/4 inch blade features a long swedge along the spine.
The handle is formed from a column of ancient walrus ivory. The guard is fileworked along the edge. Vine pattern filework along the spacer adds nice contrast. The knife is accompanied by a Kenny Rowe custom leather sheath with hand tooling.
Exceptional work throughout!
