Description: The Tangent is a unique folder from Grant and Gavin Hawk. It features the IKBS ball bearing pivot, which makes the action extremely smooth and the flipping motion incredibly fast. The mechanism is easy to use for both right and left handed users.
The blade is formed from stainless damascus forged by Devin Thomas. He calls this pattern Herringbone damascus. The blade will have exceptional edge holding and is very dramatic. A cobalt blue anodized double thumbstud is one method of fast opening. An alternative method is by using the unobtrusive flipper. A light but deliberate pull on the flipper and the blade jumps to attention!
High tech scales of carbon fiber sit atop titanium slabs which are anodized a vivid pattern of blues, purples, and greens.
An ingenious pivoting system derived from the Hawk Beetle is used in the Tangent. When the blade is opened, the lower section of the frame moves back and forward in a unique motion controlled by a silicone rubber bungee. Though the mechanism does not lock, when your finger rests on the lower section of the frame, it holds the blade open -- essentially locking it. A high tech pocket clip keeps the knife close at hand. It is mounted for tip down carry.
Excellent work throughout!
