Description: South African knifemaker André Thorburn creates an exceptional folder at an amazingly low price. The blade is perfectly centered and silky smooth -- easily opened with one hand using the discreet and ambidextrous flipper toggle. The blade uses the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System) pivot system. This mechanism, which was originally designed to fit balisong knives, uses ball bearings to create exceptional action with no blade play.
The clip point N690 stainless blade is meticulously hand satin finished in the grinds and mirror polished on the flats. N690 is a super-steel created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds on to it. The increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping, and the blade has been hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The scales combine polished carbon fiber with 303 stainless steel bolsters that are finely textured, providing a steadfast grip that is also very beautiful. Jimping on the spine ensures a secure purchase on the thumb rest. The flipper doubles as a front guard that keeps the hand from sliding forward onto the blade. The sturdy contoured handle fills out the hand perfectly. The handle is completed with blue anodized titanium liners and red fiber spacers that elegantly contrast against the black scales. The titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.
Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
