Description: Australian born knifemaker Glenn Waters spent much of his adult life in Japan. I am very pleased that after his recent return to Australia he is again making his uniquely Japanese influenced knives. This compact folder combines a ZDP-189 blade with a titanium frame.
This steel is among the holy grails of stainless steels. It has a particularly small crystalline structure and takes on incredible hardness (Hrc68!). It has become virtually impossible to find ZDP-189. The blade is textured on the flats and satin finished in the grinds. It has a slight curve for aggressive cutting. It is easily opened using the right handed thumb stud, which also acts as a stop pin. The solid titanium frame is milled and heat colored for a dramatic iridescent effect. Choosing titanium keeps the knife light and fast. A titanium pocket clip is heat colored to match the handle and mounted for tip-up carry.
