Description: Growing up in a house where everybody had creative hobbies, John Arnold has always enjoyed making things with his hands. A part time knifemaker and architect by profession, John Arnold finds both joy and satisfaction in designing and constructing well balanced, well proportioned and beautiful knives. The Knifemakers Guild of South Africa recognized John's skill and accepted him as a member in September 2006.
The modified wharncliffe blade is formed from high performing Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel. The hollow grind is mirror polished. The flats are satin finished. The blade has extremely silky-smooth action and is perfectly centered with no blade play. The bolsters were etched and gun blued. The linear damascus was forged by renowned South African bladesmith Bertie Rietveld. Presentation grade mammoth ivory scales are dovetailed to the bolsters for a perfect fit. Fiber spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Blue anodized titanium liners are fileworked. Excellent work throughout!
