Description: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark.
Winkler/Sayoc RnD Hawk is a field-proven collaboration between edged weapons expert Rafael Kayanan and Daniel Winkler. The Winkler/Sayoc R&D Hawk is made with edge awareness, economy of motion and mobility in mind. The head measures approximately 5 1/2 in length, with a cutting edge of 2-1/8 inches. Designed so that the heaviest area rests at the head, the hawk's full tang is skeletonized and tapered reducing overall weight.
An upward curved end provides a reinforce grip. The haft is formed from dyed curly maple. Tribal markings both provide visual interest and a sure grip.
The versatile felt lined sheath is formed from Kydex with a rubber belt hanger.
