Description: This hunter by Raymond Richard has an old world grace that is rarely found in knives by other makers. A Scandinavian influence is clearly visible in this knife, though Ray's own style also shines through. It is both good-looking and highly capable.
The blade is forged to shape from L6 carbon steel, an extremely tough steel with very good edge holding. The heat treatment of the blade ensures a great combination of hardness and toughness. A precise, Scandi-inspired grind and hand-rubbed satin finish ensure this piece would hold its own in any collection, as well as being an excellent use knife out in the field.
The handle is ebony wood, highly prized for its jet black appearance. An ancient walrus ivory spacer provides a flash of contrast against the dark wood. The handle is contoured to fill your palm comfortably - you won't want to put it down! The handle is completed with antique hammer finished wrought iron fittings.
To keep the knife close at hand, a traditional Scandinavian style single seam leather sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
