Description: Anders's work is highly valued by collectors worldwide - he has consistently produced pieces with some of the tightest tolerances of any maker, anywhere. A recurrent theme in his work is his inspired fusion of Japanese and Nordic styles, creating pieces that are bold, elegant, and truly unique.
The hamon (temper lines) created by Anders' clay heat treat process result in a knife that has excellent edge retention, while also having the support of a softer central ridge. Double hamon lines are created by quenching the blade twice. This creates multiple hardness zones within the blade and is particularly difficult to achieve, showing the tremendous skill of the maker. The bolster is cast from Chinese gold. By casting, he is able to create fittings that incorporate much more smoothly into the dagger, resulting in a true masterwork. Fine-patterns in the damascus ferrule echo subtle tones in the ivory. The handle is formed from fossil walrus ivory in gray-blue and caramel-brown, with a damascus pin matching the ferrule. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
