Description: This exceptional flat-ground, drop-point hunter by Mastersmith Steve Culver is named for the Cimarron Cutoff, a particularly treacherous section of the Santa Fe Trail. This section of the trail was used as a 19th century transportation route and is still a tremendously scenic hunting area.
The feather-pattern damascus blade was forged to shape from 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels for a keen, long lasting edge. A distal taper gives this knife optimal balance. The 416 stainless steel bolster is satin finished and fits perfectly to the blade and mammoth ivory handle. The mortised tang handle is secured with stainless pins. The ivory is nicely matched and provides a sure, comfortable handle. This outstanding hunter fits securely into its own hand-tooled dark brown leather sheath.
