Description: Johan Gustafsson is famed for creating some of the most detailed Damascus found anywhere -- and this is an exceptional example of his work.
The blade was forged to shape from Johan's multi-bar mosaic Damascus. The spine bar features two stacked bars of highly complex palomino horses forged into the Damascus. The edge is a firecracker pattern forged from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels, assuring a keen, long lasting blade. The blade is heat colored to bring out gold, green, and purple tones. Johan has spent years developing a complex heat coloring technique to bring out colors rarely, if ever, found in other makers' work.
The handle incorporates explosion pattern Damascus front and rear bolsters with amber scales. The natural amber is a brilliant yellow tone with darker and lighter veins. The bolsters are dovetailed to the amber for a perfect fit. The scales sit on fully fileworked and anodized titanium liners. Full Damascus backbar. Gold plated screws finish out the presentation.
The blade has silky-smooth action and is easily opened using the 18kt gold thumb stud which holds a ruby. The adjustable stop, unique to Johan's knives, allows the angle at which the blade is closed to be changed. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
