Description: Spyderco was founded in 1976 by Sal and Gail Glesser. In 1978, they settled in Golden, Colorado, and initially, the company focused on selling their first product: the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker™ which was primarily sold at fairs and trade shows around the country. Since then, Spyderco has steadily grown to become one of the leaders in the cutlery industry. In addition to a worldwide distribution network and manufacturing resources in the U.S., Japan, Taiwan, Italy, and China, their innovations have earned them an impressive portfolio of patents, trademarks, and industry awards.
Originally released in 1990, the Spyderco Endura (C10PBK) revolutionized the pocket knife. Spyderco was the first company to popularize a pocket clip for easy retrieval and make one-handed opening a priority. The Endura and Delica paved the way for lightweight knives with injection molded FRN handles and premium stainless steel blades. Now in it’s fourth iteration, the Endura remains a top candidate for enthusiasts and beginners alike.
The black FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handles contain skeletonized stainless steel liners for strength and also provide an anchor point for the pocket clip screws. Bi-directional texturing on the scales provides a non-slip grip, even in gloves or with wet hands. The back lock release features a Boye dent to prevent accidental lock release. The stainless steel pocket clip can be mounted on either side for tip-up or tip-down carry. A lanyard hole at the rear of the handle allows for the attachment of lanyards and fobs.
The 3.8 inch saber ground blade is made of VG-10 stainless steel. VG-10 is a Japanese made, high-grade stainless steel that has been used in both culinary and pocket knives for decades. It has a wonderful balance of corrosion resistance, edge holding and strength that make it ideal for knives of all kinds. A saber grind gives improved strength, especially towards the tip. The knife is razor sharp and ready to go to work right out of the box!
Made in Seki, Japan.
