Description: Shane Taylor's Batwing Fighters have long been among my favorite knife designs. The sleek shape is exceptionally comfortable and maneuverable when held.
The damascus blade has been differentially heat colored with golden tones at the edge and moving into blue/purple tones at the spine. The result is exceptionally dramatic. Both the blade and tang have strong distal tapers so as the bring the weight back to the center of the handle. Victorian gothic engraving and the spine nicely matches with the 24k gold Victorian gothic inlay on the flats of the blade. Shane makes a sketch of his inlay and engraving on each knife so that he can be sure to keep the engraving and inlay unique to each knife. The Damascus has a Victorian intricacy as well, and is enhanced by the clean lines of the batwing style. Mammoth ivory scales are blue/green toned with hints of caramel and burnt cream tones. Ivory of this coloration is particularly rare and desirable. Each of the screws have been hand fileworked and heat blued. This knife is numbered 073. Exceptional work throughout!
