Description: Michael Almqvist has been a knifemaker for nearly 30 years, having crafted his first knife at 15. The many years of artistry clearly show in this exceptional Sami influenced hunter.
The multi-bar composite Damascus blade was forged by renowned Swedish bladesmith Roger Bergh. Roger combined five separate bars into a highly complex Damascus pattern. The central bar depicts bold mosaic pattern and is surrounded by linear nickel bars. Edge and spine twist pattern damascus is forged from 20C and 15N20 carbon steels, assuring a keen, long lasting edge. As is traditional in Nordic countries, the blade is created by a true master of the forge, whereas the handle is created by a knifemaker who has focused exclusively on that. This focus allows an amazing level of skill to be developed.
The handle incorporates reindeer antler with thin oosic spacers. Traditional Scandinavian patterns are engraved on the reindeer antler showing tremendous control. The basket weave pattern continues onto the leather sheath. The enclosed tang is covered by reindeer antler with black fiber spacers. The "backbar" has been hand fileworked. The knife snaps securely into the sheath. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
