Description: River of Fire is a masterpiece and among the most dramatic daggers that I have encountered. The blade features a unique Damascus pattern Bill developed that he calls 'River of Fire". The highly complex pattern is a modification on firestorm pattern and displays a central river with rivulets of flame moving out and across the blade.
The quillion guard is formed from W's pattern Damascus. African blackwood has been meticulously hand fluted and is completed with twisted fine silver wire. Front and rear fine silver ferrules are set with Damascus fittings. Exceptional fit and finish throughout.
This dagger has been in a single private collection since it was made in the summer of 2007. At the time, Bill was a Journeyman Smith, approaching his Mastersmith test the following year. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. An exceptional find!
