Description: Jimmy, who started making knives in the early 1960s, was hand building tactical knives before nearly any other custom maker. His survival knives were among his most famous and innovative knives. This exceptional example of his work has been in a private collection and has been meticulously cared for. It is in mint condition.
The 6 1/2 in. stainless steel blade features the LILE mark without a dot. This signifies that the knife as handmade by Jimmy Lile, rather than being a knife made after his death. The blade is flat ground and has a bead blasted finish. The guard and pommel are both formed from matt finished brass. The pommel can be unscrewed, allowing access to the waterproof hollow handle. The handle is wrapped in para-cord for a secure hand hold. Accompanied by a back cowhide sheath made by the "Johnson Sheathery".
