Description: Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson creates a nostalgic feel with this hand forged 1084 carbon steel hunter. His work is something that always captures the imagination and attention, with a fit and finish that is rarely found elsewhere. This knife was made in 2004 and has been in a single collection. It has been meticulously cared for, having never been used to cut and is in new condition. It has never been sharpened and by all appearances could have been made yesterday.
The clip point carbon steel blade was forged to shape and has an appleseed grind that is a hallmark of Jay’s work, resulting in a very strong edge. It is precision fit to the sambar stag guard. The curly maple handle swells gentle at the palm for a secure grip in the hand. Fine silver inlay and carved leaves add a deep sense of elegance to this hunter. This hunter was made to commemorate the North American Hunting Club and has a medallion inlaid into the pommel. Exceptional work throughout.
