Description: Staffan Pantzar, who is the vice chairman of the Swedish Knifemakers Association, makes an incredible knife. As is typical in Sweden, he has teamed up with a well known Bladesmith, who forges the blade and then Staffan creates the handle and sheath. This allows both artists to specialize in the areas of knifemaking that they both enjoy the most and are best at.
The multi-bar composite mosaic Damascus blade shows Mattias' work at its best. A complex basket weave pattern is surrounded by a 20C and 15N20 carbon steel Damascus edge bar. The handle incorporates two tones of contrasting stabilized giraffe bone with buffalo horn and aluminum for contrast. The aluminum keeps the knife light in the hand. The handle has been well shaped for a comfortable, secure hold. Excellent fit and finish throughout.
