Description: Webb Hammond began by hand forging this blade from 52100 carbon steel. This steel, popularized by Mastersmith Ed Fowler, is considered by many to be among the best performing steels ever used for knives. The upper section of the blade features a hammer finish, whereas the grinds have been mirror polished. A deep heat bluing results in a reflective black finish.
The handle is formed from rare black marlin bill. The front bolster is formed from fossil walrus jaw bone, with the end cap formed from stellar sea cow cheek bone. Black fiber spacers allow the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Nice work throughout!
