Description: Mastersmith Jay Hendrickson creates a nostalgic feel with this upswept Damascus skinner. His work is something that always captures the imagination and attention, with a fit and finish that is rarely found elsewhere. This knife was made in 2002 and has been in a single collection. It has been meticulously treated, having never been used to cut and is in new condition. It has never been sharpened and by all appearances could have been made yesterday.
The upswept Damascus blade is forged to shape and has an appleseed grind that is a hallmark of Jay’s work, resulting in a very strong edge. It is precision fit to the nickel silver guard. The curly maple handle has been sculpted for a perfect feel in the hand. Fine silver inlay and fossil ivory escutcheons add a deep sense of elegance to this skinner. A distal tapered tang and blade assure a perfect balance. Exceptional work throughout.
