Description: Bob Lay's designs are well thought out and show an amazing degree of craftsmanship. The deep black buffalo horn handle is nicely offset by the green dyed and stabilized maple spacer and brass fittings. It is rare for Bob to make knives with brass and when he does, the result is exceptional. The brass guard and butt cap create a perfect balance in the hand. By mirror polishing the flats of the blade and satin finishing the grinds, Bob creates a knife with grind lines that are very dramatic. The blade has been heat treated to 57Rc for optimal edge retention. It is clear why Bob's work is searched for by both collectors and hunters.
