Description: Award winning Swedish bladesmith Henry Hildén held nothing back when he created this Swedish Bowie. The multi-bar composite blade is forged from three bars of mosaic Damascus steel. The central bar is forged from pure nickel and iron and is a pattern that Henry calls wrapped stars. The firecracker pattern spine and edge are forged from 1778 and 15N20 carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The patterns are extremely clear and show tremendous control and skill.
The handle features a series of stacked spacers. Fileworked sterling silver surrounds fileworked mammoth ivory and masur birch spacers. The main handle has been sculpted from stabilized masur birch and feels very comfortable in the hand. The right side features decorative pinwork, one of the hallmarks of Henry's work. The fit and finish is extremely well executed, from the meeting between the blade and bolster to the sculpting on the handle.
