Description: Award winning Swedish bladesmith Henry Hildén held nothing back when he created this Swedish hunter. The four-bar composite blade is forged from twisted firecracker pattern Damascus surrounded by a bold firecracker pattern edge forged from ck 100 and 15N20 carbon steels for exceptional edge retention. The patterns are extremely clear and show tremendous control and skill.
The handle features a series of stacked spacers at the front which provide a secure hand hold and optimal balance. Basket weave mosaic Damascus steel is surrounded by thin fileworked nickel spacers, fossil mammoth ivory, stabilized and dyed masur birch, and nickel silver. The sculpted handle is formed from stabilized exhibition grade masur birch, with a tremendous, swirling grain pattern. The right side features decorative pinwork, one of the hallmarks of Henry's work. The fit and finish is extremely well executed, from the meeting between the blade and bolster to the sculpting on the handle.
