Description: Anders creates works of art that are a fusion of cultures and yet uniquely identified by his style. The habaki (blade sleeve) features different shaped carved cutouts on each side. On the right side of the habaki, Anders has inlaid dots of gold. This is continued on the guard. All fittings are hand cast by Anders from copper and antiqued. The work on the wooden sheath is meticulous, showing the skill gained through Anders' earlier career as a Swedish fine furniture maker. The belt loop is formed from gold and creates a dramatic flourish. By shaping the guard in a kidney shape, the dagger rests close to the side of the thigh. Definitely among my favorite pieces created by Anders to date.
