Description: Up and coming knifemaker, Jordan Buckley has tremendous attention to detail. Jordan, who is 21 years old (as of 2025) is a Washington native. His passion for bladesmithing is clear throughout all his knives. His work and aesthetic have tremendous refinement despite only having been making knives for 5 years. Perhaps it is no surprise that he aspires to become a mastersmith by 25!
This high performance chef's knife is a perfect choice as a primary knife in the kitchen. The blade is well suited for slicing vegetables, meats, and more. The gentle arc of the cutting edge is perfect for a rocking, chopping motion with plenty of finger clearance over a cutting board. At 9 inches, it is a comfortable size for easy control and will get almost any task done. This knife is sure to become your kitchen favorite.
The blade is hand forged from Jordan's own mosaic damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The high contrast pattern is extremely engaging. The controlled pattern shows off Jordan's exquisite skill at the forge. His touchmark is on the left side of the blade. Because the knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to prevent rust.
The bolster is integral to the blade, with the damascus pattern moving seamlessly from bolster to blade. This technique has superior structural integrity and requires a particularly talented smith. The bolster is heirloom fit to the handle ensuring no sharp corners even if the natural wood shrinks over time.
The handle is African blackwood. African blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) is a dense, nearly jet-black wood that holds up beautifully to the demands of either a homer or commercial kitchen. It is hand sculpted for a secure, comfortable grip. A mammoth ivory accent is inlaid into the back of the handle. Like other knives, this knife should not go in the dishwasher.
Exceptional work throughout!
