Description: Henry Hilden began making knives in 1995 and has become one of the most accomplished knifemakers in Sweden. He produces exceptionally stunning damascus blades and the fit and finish of his knives easily rival some of the best knifemakers in the world. This Swedish Hunter is a prime example of Henry's incredible work and could easily be at the center of any collection!
The damascus blade is hand forged from a multi-bar composite made from 1080 and 15n20 carbon steels. The center bar is mosaic damascus that shows five spiders hanging out in a spider web. The top and bottom bar show firecracker patterns along the cutting edge. The Scandi style grind, preferred by many bushcrafters for its efficient carving ability, is razor sharp. Henry's touchmark is on the right side of the blade.
The handle is presentation Arizona desert ironwood. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is extremely dense and durable. In fact, it is so dense that if a piece is dropped in water it will sink! Fluted nickel silver spacers surround a central mammoth molar spacer. The explosion pattern guard and pommel finish the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled, Swedish style leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
