Description: Mastersmith Kevin Harvey is well known for his tremendous attention to detail -- only matched by his skill at design. Regrettably, few of Harvey's knives make it to the US these days. I was extremely excited when I was able to bring this knife back with me from one of my visits to South Africa.
The drop point blade is hand forged ladder pattern damascus. Carbon steel damascus ensures excellent edge holding and chip resistance. A particularly deep etch makes the pattern easy to see - even from a distance. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. Kevin's touchmark is on the left side. The blade features a Scandi-grind, preferred by many bushcrafters for its excellent cutting ability.
The handle is stabilized curly maple. It swells at the palm to provide a comfortable, secure grip. The front and back of the handle are sealed with nickel silver bolsters and hand engraved by Kevin.
To keep the knife close at hand, a traditional Nordic style leather sheath made by Kevin is included. The belt loop is attached to a ring which allows the sheath to swing out of the way when sitting down.
Excellent work throughout!
