Description: Mastersmith David Lisch lives in Yelm, Washington. He is well known for his bowies, hunting knives, and kitchen knives. He has a level of creativity that few knifemakers can emulate. When combined with his high level blacksmith skills, he is able to create incredible knives that are highly desirable worldwide. This gorgeous bowie knife shows David's talent as both a bladesmith and blacksmith.
The 8-3/4 inch blade was hand forged from David's own feather pattern damascus combining 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The bold pattern is extremely dramatic and demands further examination. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. David's touchmark is engraved into the spine of the blade.
The handle features a downturned section of premium sambar stag that retains the natural texture to provide a solid grip. A wrought iron S-guard was forged to shape and prevents your hand from sliding forward. Damascus and textured bronze spacers add a nice transition between handle and guard. The mosaic damascus pommel is hand carved to match the texturing of the stag. The end cap includes a custom takedown pin. This allows the knife to be disassembled if cleaning and maintenance are needed. Take-down construction requires tighter tolerances and shows Lisch's focus on the details. This is a knife you really have to hold to truly appreciate! Because this knife is made from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to protect the blade and natural antler handle.
Excellent work throughout!
