Description: Mastersmith David Lisch lives in Yelm, Washington. He is well known for his bowies, hunting knives, and kitchen knives. He has a level of creativity that few knifemakers can emulate. When combined with his high level blacksmith skills, he is able to create incredible knives that are highly desirable worldwide. Over the last several years, David has been creating some of the best chef's knives to be found anywhere.
The 9-2/3 inch blade is forged from David's own mosaic damascus, combining 1084 and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. The high contrast pattern is extremely engaging and will have you staring at the blade for hours. The spine and choil have been rounded for additional comfort. David's touchmark is on the left side of the blade. Because the blade is forged from carbon steel, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust.
The bolster is integral to the blade with the damascus pattern flowing seamlessly between. This technique creates superior structural integrity, but requires a particularly talented smith to pull off in a custom setting.
The handle is a premium downturned section of Sambar stag. The natural texture of the antler provides a comfortable, non-slip grip. The end of the handle is sealed with a forged bronze end cap. Like other knives, this knife should not be put in the dishwasher.
Excellent work throughout!
