Description: This exceptional folder was created by Carlo Cavedon. Carlo (b. 1969) hails from Italy. He started knifemaking and engraving in 2009 (at 40 years old). What started as a hobby became his full-time job in 2016, just 7 years later. In 2018, he graduated as an engraver specializing in chisel techniques and precious materials at Alain Lovenberg’s Atelier in Belgium. In 2019, he became a Master in the Italian Knifemakers’ Guild. He currently participates in numerous exhibitions all over the world, including Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, the US, and Brazil. Each knife he creates is unique. His work is sole authorship and made entirely by hand without CNC tools. He also organizes linerlock folder construction courses for individual students and classes in Italy, Brazil, and the US.
The blade is well centered and has silky-smooth action thanks to the ball bearing pivot. The blade can be deployed with one hand using the ambidextrous front flipper tab. This inobtrusive style of flipper tab will not get caught on things in your pocket.
The swayback blade is stonewashed Elmax stainless steel. ELMAX provides the extreme edge retention, high strength, and toughness a hard-use knife demands. High wear resistance in a steel usually means low corrosion resistance, but not with ELMAX. With this advanced steel, you get both properties, which makes it an excellent steel for daily carry folders. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. The spine is hand fileworked and jimped for a comfortable thumb purchase.
Handle scales combined amboyna burl with copper foil layered Death Valley carbon fiber made by Valley Composite Materials. The two exotic materials are fit beautifully in an elegant keyhole shape. Titanium liners are polished and surround a polished and fileworked titanium backbar. Screw hardware is blackened throughout.
The knife is accompanied by a zipper pouch and a torx set, should you ever need to work on the knife.
Excellent work throughout!
