Description: Mastersmith Tommy Gann makes an exceptional knife. His sense of design is only matched by his skill of implementation. His fit and finish is among the best out there and he brings a style that is timeless. This Clip Point Hunter is a beautiful example of his high quality work.
The 5 inch clip point blade is hand forged 52100 carbon steel with a hand rubbed satin finish. 52100 is considered by many knifemakers and knife users to be among the best steels (if not the best!) used in modern knifemaking. It combines exceptional edge holding with durability and ease of sharpening. The blade is flat ground and razor sharp. Tommy's touchmark and M.S. mark are on the left side of the blade.
The handle is Honduran rosewood (Dalbergia stevensonii). The warm toned wood has tremendous swirling figure. The handle was sculpted by hand and provides a comfortable grip. A coined spacer separates the satin finished 416 stainless guard from the handle. This knife will feel equally at home in a private collection as it would on your belt while out in the field.
To keep the knife close at hand, a tooled pouch style leather custom sheath made by Bob's Saddle Shop is included.
Excellent work throughout!
