Description: This exceptional Integral Hunter was made by Boise, ID knifemaker Mike Okamura. This knife has been in a knifemaker's private collection. It is in new condition and by all appearances Mike could have made it yesterday. Mike makes all his knives by hand using files and hand drills, sandpaper and lots of elbow grease. He specializes in integral knives and this is among his most impressive patterns.
The blade and integral full tang are made from a single piece of D2 tool steel, ensuring superior strength and durability. The blade is hollow ground for a thin, high performance edge. The grinds are nicely balanced from side to side. The blade moves into an integral bolster, which in turn moves into a sideways tang, culminating in an integral pommel. Sideways handle scales are dyed and stabilized buckeye burl.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched, hand tooled leather sheath, also made by Okamura.
Exceptional work throughout!
