Description: This is an elegant backlock folder by EG Peterson of Whitefish Montana. Eldon was a spectacular knifemaker and went full time in 1974. He was well known both for his hunting knives and folders. He passed away on Oct. 19, 2011. It has been meticulously cared for in a private collection. By all appearances, Eldon could have made it yesterday.
The blade is hand ground ATS-34 stainless steel and features a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. It has smooth, consistent action and is well centered.
Both the handle and blade are inlaid with 24k gold accents and meticulously engraved by Tony Lageose. The late Anthony Lageose lived in Kalispell, MT. Eldon and he collaborated on many projects and the results were always top notch. The central section of the handle is inlaid with cold blued steel and inlaid with 24k leaves and vines. The engraving throughout is exceptional. It covers the blade, spine, backbar, and sides of the knife.
Excellent fit and finish throughout!
