Description: Roger Bergh's work is in a class of its own. His control over damascus and his skill at combining exotic materials sets him apart as an artist. This stunning Swedish Bowie combines an elegant multi-bar damascus blade with a combination of beautiful materials that will have you staring at it for hours. This elegant knife was in a private collection and is in brand new condition. By all appearances, Roger could have made it yesterday!
The multi-bar damascus blade is forged from Roger's own damascus combining 20C and 15N20 carbon steels to ensure excellent edge holding and chip resistance. A central bar of twist damascus is surrounded by two solid 15N20 bars. Firecracker damascus bars form the spine and cutting edge. The result is a stunning blade that will have you staring at it for hours. Roger's touchmark is engraved on the right side of the blade. Because the blade is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to oil the blade and natural wood handle.
The handle is Arizona desert ironwood. Desert ironwood (Olneya tesota) is a rare wood that is only found in the valleys of the Sonoran Desert below 2,500 foot elevation. It is among the most desirable of exotic woods used for knives. Damascus is inlaid into both sides of the handle. A mammoth ivory spacer separates the wood handle from the impressive mosaic damascus bolster. A damascus end cap finishes the knife. This knife could easily be the pinnacle of any serious knife collection.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled single seam leather custom sheath is included.
Excellent work throughout!
