Description: Tinus Stone is a custom knifemaker from Mossel Bay on the Western Cape of South Africa. He mainly makes slipjoints and is known for his clean lines and great fit & finish.
The blade on this Lanny's Clip Slipjoint Folder is hand ground N690 stainless steel. Bohler N690 ensures a keen, long lasting edge with good resistance to chipping. It is a great choice for high performance use knives. A hand rubbed satin finish lends an heirloom quality to Tinus' work. Tinus' maker mark is on the left side of the blade.
The handle combines stabilized and red dyed maple burl with stabilized blue dyed maple burl bolsters. The combination of contrasting materials is particularly dramatic. Thin white fiber liners contrast nicely against the scales and will help the handle adjust to humidity and temperature changes. The contoured handle feels exceptional in your hand.
This folder is nicely timed with a firm half-stop. The action throughout is smooth and consistent.
The knife is accompanied by a leather slip pocket pouch for easy carry.
Exceptional work throughout!
