Description: Lourens Prinsloo made his first knife in 1996, shortly after attending a knifemaking course with Owen Wood. In 1998 he became a member of the Knifemakers' Guild of Southern Africa. Prior to his retirement in 2016, Lourens taught engineering, graphic design, woodworking, and metalwork. This variety of experience helped him tackle the challenges that exist with creating high performing folders that are beautiful as well as functional. His main focus is making gentleman's folding knives, specifically liner lock flippers, designed to be carried and used.
The 2.7 inch blade is hand ground N690 stainless steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 62 Hrc. N690 is created by Bohler in Austria. It takes an incredibly sharp edge and holds onto it. Increased toughness gives it better resistance to edge chipping. The blade is hollow ground for an easy to maintain edge.
The blade is perfectly centered with consistent, smooth action. Disengaging the lock is a breeze using the button lock!
Polar Dark Matter FatCarbon handle scales are set on anodized titanium liners. The Rausch external titanium pivot is surrounded by a titanium pivot collar.
Excellent work throughout!
