Description: Richard Soler is a talented folding knife maker from Auriol, France. He specializes in high performance front flippers. The influence of his good friend and fellow maker Guy Pogetti can clearly be seen in his work. Richard's work is exceptional and we are excited to showcase it here in the United States where his work is rarely available.
The Z160CDV12 semi-stainless steel blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. Z160 is the French equivalent to D2. Like D2, it has a tremendously long-lasting edge and good chip resistance. With 11-13% chromium, it is quite resistant rust and oxidation, though not quite as stain proof as a true stainless steel. The hand ground blade is inspired by traditional Japanese kwaiken. Jimping on the spine provides excellent thumb purchase.
The blade is perfectly centered and has silky-smooth, drop-shut action thanks to the ball bearing pivot. The blade can be easily deployed using the front flipper tab using your thumb or index finger.
Handle scales are red/gold jasper. They are set on titanium liners, keeping the knife light, yet strong. The backbar is Micarta. The 3D machined titanium pocket clip is mounted for right-side, tip-up carry.
Excellent work throughout!
