Description: This elegant hunter was made by Don Cantini. It was likely made in the 80s or early 90s and was kept in a private collection. It is in new condition and by all appearances, Don could have made it yesterday.
The stainless steel blade is hollow ground stainless steel. It is likely 440C or ATS-34. It is satin finished and has a Spanish notch in front of the ricasso. Don’s mark is on the right side of the ricasso.
The handle scales are nicely contoured from antique Westinghouse Micarta. This Micarta was developed in 1910 by Westinghouse Electric Corporation as an industrial thermo-set laminate for electrical insulation. The scales are set on a full tang for strength and durability. They are secured with Loveless style rivets and a lined lanyard hole.
The knife is accompanied by a hand stitched leather custom sheath.
Excellent work throughout.
