Description: Magnus Axelson (b. 1970) has been making custom knives since 2002. He lives in a small town called Sanviken, about 125 miles north of Stockholm, Sweden. He found this passion when he needed a functional, sturdy little knife when he was out doing longbow archery. After making a second one for his wife and a third for his father, he was hooked. Axelsson was mostly self-taught, which allows him to be very free in his creativity. Every knife he makes is unique.
The stainless damascus blade was forged by Damasteel in Sweden. This high performing damascus is created using powder metallurgical steel manufacturing to provide excellent edge retention and unmatched beauty. The blade culminates in an armor-piercing tip. The spine is fileworked for a secure thumb purchase when choking up on the blade.
The faceted handle is stabilized Swedish spalted white beam. The dramatic wood combines the sapwood and heartwood. A central section of fluted African blackwood provides contrast. The end of the handle is completed with a forged damascus finial.
The knife is accompanied by a wet-formed leather custom sheath. A damascus shield provides a very elegant appearance.
Exceptional work throughout!
