Description: Jason Clark is a part time, sole authorship knifemaker from O'Brien, Florida. He has been employed full time as a Florida Law Enforcement Officer since 1997 and knows what it takes to make a high functioning knife that is meant to be used. He even offers lifetime free sharpening for any knife he has made!
This exceptional folder is a modern variation on a traditional slip joint. Rather than using a backbar spring to create stops, it uses a ball bearing pivot for smoother action, combined with ball bearing detents to create the stops. This results in a folder with more consistent, reliable action for years to come!
The well centered blade has silky-smooth action thanks to the IKBS ball bearing pivot. The blade can be opened easily using the nail nick and features a firm half stop. A detent ball provides a soft lockup to help the knife to be closed by accident while not being classified as a lock. This makes the knife legal to carry where locking folders are banned.
The blade is premium CPM-154 stainless steel with a satin finish. This powdered metallurgical steel has a particularly small grain structure, making it take an extremely keen edge and hold it while remaining tough and chip resistant. Jason's touchmark is on the left side of the blade.
Carbon fiber scales are set on bead blasted titanium liners. The liners surround a satin finished backbar. An orange paracord lanyard is included to aid in pulling the knife from the pocket. “IKBS CPM154 / 60 RC - Clark Custom Knives, O'Brien, FL” is engraved on the inside of the backbar.
A leather pocket pouch made by Jason's wife is included to keep the knife protected during storage or carry.
Excellent work throughout!
