Description: Swedish knifemaker Kaj Embretsen's work has a meticulous precision not found anywhere else. Kaj's knives have become increasingly rare in the US and I was exceptionally pleased to be able to offer this one. This folder has been in a private collection. It has been meticulously cared for and is in new condition. By all appearances, it could have been made yesterday.
The dramatic blades combine a four bar Turkish Twist with a firecracker pattern edge. The damascus is extremely controlled and clear. The perfectly centered blades are easily opened using ambidextrous 24k gold ' Dellana' dots. The dual backlock mechanism (also ambidextrous) is super-smooth and easy to use.
Front and rear hand fluted bolsters are formed from Kaj's deeply etched damascus. They surround presentation grade bark mammoth ivory, which has also been fluted. The damascus bolsters and ancient mammoth ivory are set in place with hand domed 18k gold pins. Both the liners and backbars are meticulously fileworked. The handle is completed with a solid gold lanyard loop.
Simply exceptional!
