Description: Dale Miller's attention to detail shines through this elegant, slim profile gent's folder. The slip joint design, mosaic damascus, and green mammoth ivory scales make this a tremendous old school folder with modern performance.
The Swayback Jack is a very clever traditional design in which not only does the blade reverse the traditional shapes of spine and edge, but the blade seems to fold into the "wrong side" of the handle.
The 2-1/2 inch blade is hand ground damascus forged by Miller. He combined 1080 and 15N20 into ta wharncliffe shape with its curved spine and flat cutting edge. It is heat treated to a Rockwell hardness of 62 for exceptional edge holding. The bold pattern is immediately captivating.
The blade has nice action and pivots on aluminum bronze bushings. The high performing blade is thin for precise cuts. This also results in a folder that virtually disappears in your pocket.
Gently rounded handle scales are green toned mammoth ivory. Both the bolsters and liners are 410 stainless steel. The spring is 1080 carbon steel, tempered back except for the very tip, which is kept hard because of its contact with the blade tang.
Nice work throughout.
