Description: This bowie knife is the work of American knifemaker Randy Golden. Randy retired from the Air Force after a 27 year career as a pilot and became a full time knife maker in 2000. He was inducted into the Knifemakers Guild in short order and obtained full voting status in July 2007. He was recognized by Blade Magazine as one of the very best hunting knife makers in December 2006, an unusually talented up-and-coming maker at the Guild Show in December 2007, and one of the country's finest knife and sheath makers in January 2008. His grinds are clean and his fit and finish is excellent. This knife was kept in a private collection since it was made. It is in brand new condition and by all appearances, Randy could have made it yesterday!
The blade is hand ground CPM-154 stainless steel and features a meticulous hand rubbed satin finish. The full flat grind culminates into a razor sharp edge. The top clip stops just short of being fully sharpened. Randy's maker mark is on the left side of the blade.
The frame constructed handle features beautiful mammoth ivory bark scales secured to the frame using hand domed nickel silver pins. The spacer and rear bolster are fluted for a positive grip A satin finished oval guard finishes the handle.
To keep the knife close at hand, a hand tooled leather sheath made by Randy is included.
Excellent work throughout!
