Description: This integral hunter was built by Journeyman Smith Jim Poling. Jim has been making knives for over 40 years. He started with stock removal, but started to forge while in the Air force. He was immediately hooked. Poling earned his JS stamp in 2010.
Jim hand forged the blade from W1 carbon steel. A differential heat treatment ensures a keen, long lasting edge with a softer, supportive spine. The blade features a hand rubbed satin finish. The blade moves into an integral bolster. The stabilized walnut handle is secured with a hand domed 416 stainless steel pin. The wood is heirloom fit to the integral guard. This knife is accompanied by a zipper pouch and a tooled leather custom sheath.
Exceptional work throughout!
