Description: The chef's knife is the primary knife used in the kitchen, easily handling almost all culinary tasks. This 7-3/4 inch chef's knife by Dale Miller is light, agile, and very easy to maneuver. There's plenty curve to enable rocking cuts, which just adds to its versatility. Whether slicing, chopping or dicing, this chef's knife is sure to be a favorite in your kitchen!
Miller's attention to detail shines through this elegant kitchen knife. The blade was forged to shape from Dale's own feather pattern damascus, incorporating 1080 and 15N20 carbon steels. A convex ground edge aids food release. The bolster and blade are integral, showing Miller's tremendous skill at the forge. The high contrast feather pattern immediately grabs attention and ensures a keen, long lasting edge. Because this knife is forged from carbon steels, we recommend using camellia oil to avoid rust and oxidation.
The handle is sculpted from stabilized California redwood burl. This wood was salvaged from a 1700 year old tree. Ten coats of Tru-Oil provide a beautiful, resilient finish. Alternating black G-10 and Argentium silver spacers assist the handle to adjust to temperature and humidity changes. Besides making a more durable, harder and more pure alloy of silver, Argentium silver is tarnish resistant. An Argentium silver pin adds contrast. The handle is nicely contoured a secure, comfortable grip, even after hours of use. Like other kitchen knives, this knife should not be put in a dishwasher.
Exceptional work throughout.
